Alys, I just re-found this glorious memory.
“We arrived at Voodoo and waited for a few minutes before we could get in. But, by that time, the ONE BAND I was going to Voodoo to see was already beginning to play their set. So, Madeline Davis and I did what every other rational teenagers would do in this situation. The second we got into the gates, we sprinted at top speed through throngs of Voodoo Experience goers, to the sweet sounds of people screaming, “Run! Run faster! You’ll never make it in time!” (I kid you not!!!).
But, due to some kind of Divine Intervention, we arrived-huffing and puffing, I might add- at the Bingo! stage, just as MyNameIsJohnMichael was introducing their second song. We dove through the crowd to our friends (who we sent ahead of us to stake out spots), and stood right on the front row (literally up against the barricade). ” -Alys Murray
This was such an insanely fun weekend. And running across the entirety of Voodoo, literally leaping over people on the ground only enhanced it. Just reminiscing. Miss you.

LITERALLY THOUGH. ONCE IT STARTS, YOU CAN’T STOP IT.
His palms are sweaty, knees weak
arms spaghetti
there’s vomit on spaghetti already
mom’s spaghetti
He’s nervous, but on the surface he looks calm spaghetti
to drop bombs
but he keeps on spaghetti
I just made a playlist of all the old songs my great-aunt would sing to me when I was little and it makes me really happy.
